

Poland has traditionally been one of the largest producers of apples on the European continent. According to preliminary estimates of analysts of the World Association of Manufacturers of pears and apples (WAPA), apple harvest in Poland in the season 2013/14 was the highest in the last five years. According to the association, the gross harvest of apples amounted to 3.17 million tonnes, which is 9% more than the previous season, and 31% higher than the average for the last five years.
