INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA to be held concurrently with HORTITECHNICA from 2016 onwards

The highly traditional trade fair INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA will be staged on a new date in 2016 and for the first time with HORTITECHNICA for the area of special crops

New topics and technologies will be added to INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA, International Technology Trade Fair for Wine, Fruit, Fruit Juice and Spirits, from 2016 onwards. The concurrent event HORTITECHNICA will also examine the entire area of special crops with effect from the next INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA. The organiser of HORTITECHNICA is the German Agricultural Society (organiser of the trade fairs Agritechnica, EuroTier, EnergyDecentral, Potato Europe and DLG Feldtage). Held every three years in the past, INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA will be staged concurrently with HORTITECHNICA in a two-year cycle in future. Another innovation is the event date which has moved from April to autumn. The trade fair will therefore take place in Stuttgart from 27 to 30 November 2016.

Whether one-man companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, large globally operating entrepreneurs and cultivators and processors of wine, fruit and vegetables, they all want to obtain the maximum benefits from their products. "The rising expectations of consumers regarding high-quality products represent both a challenge and an opportunity for manufacturers of fruit, fruit juice, wine and spirits," said Dr. Rudolf Nickenig, General Secretary of the German Winegrowers` Association. "In order to adapt to the new market conditions, we need technical innovations, exchanges of experience with competent experts from all over the world and inter-industry synergies." This applies not only to producers of wine, fruit, fruit juice and spirits all over the world, but also to the entire area of management of special crops.

HORTITECHNICA – Focus on special crops
The German Agricultural Society also pays attention to this topic. "We quickly realised that we can help to solve minor and major problems in this area of special agriculture through an additional trade fair and more information," said Peter Grothues, Managing Director of DLG Service in Frankfurt. "The HORTITECHNICA trade fair is synonymous with this specialised agriculture, especially special crops such as asparagus, strawberries and cabbage," added Peter Grothues. "The combination with INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA in Stuttgart will provide ideal conditions for a successful première of HORTITECHNICA 2016. For the first time it will be a joint industry meeting point and a marketplace for the entire area of special crops. From cultivation through to marketing, farmers and winegrowers will meet here suppliers of the latest technologies and services for the industry. That will make this event unique."

International industry meeting point
The unique combination of a trade fair, a congress and a machine demonstration regularly impresses numerous companies and visitors from abroad: 567 exhibitors from 24 countries were represented at INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA in 2013. The organisers believe that the extension of the trade fair programme to include HORTITECHNICA for the area of special crops will produce positive effects for everyone involved. "More efficient cultivation and conveying methods or the right answers to questions concerning climate change are topics which are occupying winegrowers and fruit and vegetable farmers throughout the world," said Dr. Nickenig. The new date of the trade fair in autumn will therefore meet the needs of exhibitors and visitors alike since they will be able to place orders in good time for the coming year at the trade fair. The date in autumn will also be more favourable for visitors from the southern hemisphere because the trade fair is aiming to promote the international exchange of information and experiences still further. INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA | HORTITECHNICA will therefore feature more technology and innovations at world level than ever before: practitioners, consultants and experts from research will have the opportunity to hold discussions on an equal footing.

From the fruit to the glass - experience technology live
Watching machine demonstrations at close quarters or dipping their nose into bulbous glasses: visitors will be able to enjoy a varied programme on an exhibition area of more than 60,000 square metres - from cultivation and harvesting technologies, processing, process control and storage and packaging technologies through to organisation and marketing. There will also be a tasting workshop, several forums and special shows on topics such as "Architecture" and "Wine and tourism". One special highlight: the coveted Innovation Prizes which will again be presented for new and advanced technical developments in 2016.

Exhibitors will be able to register for INTERVITIS INTERFRUCTA | HORTITECHNICA from 1 January 2015 onwards. Suppliers of modern technologies and innovative services will then have the opportunity online to secure the best stand positions at the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre next door to Stuttgart Airport.
